The Sovereignty of God, by Arthur W. Pink

(Make sure you purchase this Banner of Truth revision of this 1928 classic.)

No Other God: A Response to Open Theism, by John M. Frame

P&R Publishing, 2001.

Evangelicalism Divided: A Record of Crucial Change in the Years 1950 to 2000

by Iain H. Murray

Authority, by D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones

Inter-Varsity Fellowship, 1964.

Right With God, by John Blanchard

Banner of Truth, 1995.

The Pilgrim’s Progress, by John Bunyan

There are several reprints of this 1678 classic, but the one I recommend is by Old Paths Gospel Press.  It is well illustrated and the print is a good size.

A View of the Covenant of Grace, by Thomas Boston

Focus Christian Ministries, 1990.

First published in 1734, this book upholds the scriptural unity of the covenant and continues to be one of the very best ever written on the subject.

The Five Points of Calvinism: Defined, Defended,Documented

by Steele, Thomas and Quinn

P&R Publishing, 2004.

A Quest For Godliness, by J.I. Packer

Crossway Books, 1990

This is a good introduction to the English Puritans.

Puritan Reformed Spirituality, by Joel R. Beeke

Reformation Heritage Books, 2004.

This is a good introduction to the Dutch Puritans.

The Church, by Edmund P. Clowney

Inter Varsity Press, 1995.

This is a well written book on a much neglected subject.

With Reverence and Awe: Returning to the Basics of Reformed Worship by D.G. Hart and John R. Muether

P&R Publishing, 2002.

This is one of the best recent books on worship.  It is a “must read” for anyone who wants to duck the flying arrows yet steer a straight course through the unprofitable ‘worship wars’ which plague the church in our day.

The Worship of God: Reformed Concepts of Biblical Worship

by Johnson, Godfrey, Pipa, et al

Christian Focus Publications, 2005

Call the Sabbath a Delight, by Walter J. Chantry

Banner of Truth, 2000.

The Lord’s Day, by Joseph A. Pipa

Christian Focus Publications, 2001.

Revival, by D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones

Crossway Books, 1987.

Sounds from Heaven, by Colin and Mary Peckham

Christian Focus Publications, 2004.

No living soul should be deprived of the privilege and blessing of reading this book!

God’s Righteous Kingdom: The Law’s Connection with the Gospel

by Walter J. Chantry

Banner of Truth, 1980

The Israel of God, by O. Palmer Robertson

P&R Publishing, 2000.

This is good book on an important subject, and it may well give us the definitive statement on Romans 11.

The Final Word: A Biblical Response to the Case for Tongues and Prophecy Today

By O. Palmer Robertson

Banner of Truth, 1997.
